Edo state Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs has urged all eligible voters across the state to come out en-masse to exercise their constitutional rights of voting a candidate of their choice, without fear, assuring that peace is not negotiable in the state.

The Council in its quarterly meeting, presided over by the Chairman, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba Ewuare the second, also resolved amongst other things, to  intensify prayers and  traditional means to ensure  absolute peace before, during and after election.

The Council also dwelt on the worsening security situation across many  villages and communities, especially  villages in Edo North Senatorial District of the state, following series of reported cases of adoption by suspected Fulani Herders, insisting that the various Security Agencies must live up to their responsibilities to protect lives and property.

The Council hailed the Benin monarch, Oba Ewuare, Ogidigan, for calling to order the two main political gladiators to eschew violence, describing the peace pact as unprecedented, which has started yielding positive outcome across the state.

Oba Ewuare also cautioned against political partisanship by Traditional Rulers.
