According to the party’s National Publicity Secretary, the selection process was conducted in line with internal rules and aimed at presenting a unified front ahead of the highly anticipated 2027 elections.

He currently leads a policy and legislative research institution and has served as a consultant to various committees within the National Assembly.

However, the announcement comes amid internal tension within the party, as another faction reportedly held a separate primary exercise in Abuja, producing a different aspirant as its candidate.
