The expanded competition will see teams establish training and recovery bases across the United States, Mexico, and Canada throughout the tournament.

According to FIFA, 39 teams will be based in the United States, seven will operate from Mexico, while two countries have selected Canada as their team base locations.

Defending champions Argentina and England are among the notable teams choosing Kansas City as their operational headquarters during the competition.

FIFA’s Chief Operating Officer for the 2026 World Cup, Heimo Schirgi, described Team Base Camps as a vital element of the tournament experience, noting that they provide players and staff with a stable environment for training, preparation, recovery, and daily operations.

Iran was confirmed to be based in Tijuana, Mexico. Mexican authorities stated that the arrangement would allow smoother tournament participation amid travel and visa considerations.

Several nations, including Colombia, South Korea, Mexico, South Africa, Tunisia, and Uruguay, selected Mexican locations, while Canada and Panama established their bases within Canada.

The United States remains the most popular destination for teams, hosting camps across major football and university facilities in cities including Kansas City, Boston, New York-New Jersey, Dallas, Atlanta, Nashville, San Diego, Austin, and San Francisco.

Among notable selections, Brazil will train in New York-New Jersey, France in Boston, Germany in North Carolina, Spain in Tennessee, Portugal in Florida, and hosts United States in Irvine, California.
