Housewife lands in police net for faking daughter’s kidnap

‎A 22-year-old housewife, Fatima Bishir, has landed in police net after faking the kidnap of her five-year-old daughter and demanding a ransom of N2m for her release.

Fatima also attempted to frame up another woman her husband was planning to re-marry‎.

The incident took place in Mashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.

‎‎Spokesman of the Katsina State Police Command, ‎Gambo Isah,‎ ‎who paraded the suspect on Thursday, explained that Fatima, on July 5, 2020, falsely reported at Mashi Police Division that her little daughter was missing.

Fatima equally informed the police that she strongly suspected the ex-wife of her husband.

It was gathered that Fatima’s husband was planning to re-marry the ex-wife. ‎

‎Isah further revealed that Fatima was arrested when she and her housemaid attempted to drop the said kidnapped baby at the house of the mother of the ex-wife in a bid to implicate her.‎

Upon her arrest, ‎Fatima confessed to have taken her daughter to Kano State with the aid of her housemaid as part of the fake kidnap plot.‎

‎The police spokesman said Fatima will be charged to court after further investigations.
