In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the command clarified that security agencies had not yet secured the release of the victims and remained actively engaged in efforts to rescue them and arrest those responsible.
According to the statement, joint security teams are continuing coordinated operations aimed at ensuring the safe recovery of all abducted persons.
The police described circulating claims that the victims had already been rescued as false and urged residents to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information.
The command warned that misinformation could interfere with ongoing rescue efforts by creating panic, heightening public tension, and diverting critical security resources.
