EEDC Reports Total System Collapse in South-East Region, Begins Restoration Efforts
Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC issues outage notice, detailing affected areas and ongoing efforts to restore power.
The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has declared a total collapse of power supply to its customers across the South-East zone early on Monday, April 15, 2024. This disruption led to a loss of supply to all EEDC interface Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) stations.
In a statement issued by the Head of Corporate Communications at EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, the company informed its customers about the outage and the ongoing efforts to resolve the situation.
NOTICE OF TOTAL SYSTEM COLLAPSE.
The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform its esteemed customers of a total system collapse that occurred at 2:41 am today, April 15, 2024. This resulted in the loss of supply to all our interface TCN stations, affecting customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States.
However, the situation is gradually being resolved, with power supply being received at the Awada TCN station in Onitsha at 7:30 am. EEDC is in constant communication with relevant authorities, awaiting full restoration of supply by the National Control Centre (NCC) in Oshogbo.
