Celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest has declared that his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains unwavering despite losing the party’s ticket for a federal constituency seat in Imo State. He said his political involvement is driven by a desire to contribute directly to governance and national development.
Celebrity barman and socialite Cubana Chief Priest has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that his loyalty to the party remains firm despite recent political setbacks in Imo State.
Speaking during an interview on The Beat FM, the businessman dismissed suggestions that losing the APC ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency had affected his relationship with the party.
According to him, his support for President Tinubu and the APC remains “undiluted and unshakable.”
Cubana Chief Priest, who has been publicly associated with APC mobilisation efforts in the South-East and the City Boy Movement backing Tinubu, said his decision to venture into politics was motivated by the need to move beyond online commentary and participate directly in governance.
He explained that social media criticism alone could not drive meaningful change, stressing that individuals with influence, experience and resources should contribute actively to decision-making processes.
The celebrity businessman added that he believes he can make a difference through direct political participation rather than merely reacting to government decisions online.
Speaking on developments in Imo State, he argued that the removal of fuel subsidy has improved the financial capacity of state governments, enabling governors to execute projects without excessive borrowing.
According to him, some of the achievements recorded by the APC-led administration influenced his continued support for the party.
Earlier this month, Cubana Chief Priest disclosed that he voluntarily stepped down from the APC primary race after consultations with party leaders over zoning arrangements that reportedly did not favour his local government area.
However, during a recent Twitch live session with streamer Peller, he also revealed that President Tinubu may not fully trust him because of his previous association with Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election.
