ID Cabasa Condemns Rising Insecurity, Urges Government to Take Decisive Action
Veteran music producer says Nigerians are becoming desensitised to violence as insecurity, banditry and terrorism continue to threaten lives across the country.
Music producer ID Cabasa has criticised the Federal Government’s response to insecurity, expressing concern over increasing killings and fear among citizens. He called for stronger action against violence and urged Nigerians to rise above political and ethnic divisions in confronting the crisis.
Veteran Nigerian music producer ID Cabasa has expressed concern over the worsening security situation in the country, accusing the Federal Government of failing to take decisive steps to address persistent killings, banditry and terrorism.
Speaking in a video shared on Instagram, the producer, born Olumide Ogunade, lamented what he described as a growing culture of normalising violence and tragedy across Nigeria.
According to him, repeated incidents of insecurity have left many citizens emotionally exhausted and increasingly accustomed to tragic events.
Cabasa also criticised the tendency of Nigerians to interpret issues of insecurity through political, religious and ethnic divisions rather than approaching them as a national challenge requiring collective attention.
He warned that continued violence was creating fear among families and affecting everyday life, particularly among parents concerned about the safety of their children.
The producer further expressed concern that public attention often shifts quickly from serious national issues to entertainment and social media trends, allowing critical conversations around insecurity to lose momentum.
Comparing Nigeria’s approach to insecurity with responses in some other countries, he questioned policies that focus on rehabilitating repentant terrorists while victims and affected communities continue to seek justice and healing.
Cabasa argued that stronger measures and clearer responses are needed to reassure citizens and strengthen confidence in national security efforts.
Calling for collective responsibility, he urged Nigerians to continue speaking up against violence and remain committed to demanding solutions that promote peace, security and protection of lives across the country
