‎A 33-year-old operative of the Department of State Services, Sadiq Abdullahi Bindawa, has been killed by gunmen, suspected to be bandits‎, in Katsina.

It was gathered that the gunmen killed Bindawa even after‎ receiving N5m as ransom for his release.

Sources said Bindawa, who worked with the intelligence department of the DSS in Abuja, was abducted alongside his four-year-old son at his residence behind Federal Secretariat in Katsina metropolis, on Saturday. ‎

The bandits demanded N5m for Bindawa’s release and the sum was raised by his family members and colleagues.

The money was taken to the Charanchi area of the state on Sunday and his relatives were told to go and receive him in Kurfi town on Monday morning.
