A man, Arinze Onuoha, has lost his life in a fight with a neighbour, Adekunle Adeyemi, who was said to be sleeping with his wife.
The incident happened at Red Block Street, in the Grammar School area of Ikorodu, Lagos State, where both men reside with their families.
It was gathered that Adeyemi reportedly told their neighbours that he had been sleeping with Chisom, the wife of Arinze Onuoha.
A public fight which ensued over the development ended with Adeyemi stabbing Onuoha to death.
It was further learnt that Adeyemi fled after committing the murder and has not been seen since then.
The matter was reported to the Ikorodu Police Division.
Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana, said Onuoha was allegedly stabbed to death by Adeyemi after he was accused of having affair with Chisom, Onuoha’s wife.
Elkana said, “A woman, Glory Dickson, came and reported that Adeyemi of the same address came to their room alleging that her husband, Stanley Dickson, told Chisom’s husband, Arinze Onuoha, that he (Adeyemi) was having an affair with his wife (Chisom).”
“This led to an argument and confrontation and in the process, Adeyemi stabbed Arinze with a knife on the left side of his chest.
“The victim was rushed to the Ikorodu General Hospital by sympathisers where he was confirmed dead and the corpse was brought back home.”
Elkana added that the victim was found already dead lying on the floor of his apartment.
According to him, the police has commenced investigation, and has also embarked on a manhunt for Adeyemi, who is at large.
