Unknown gunmen on Tuesday abducted a man in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
It as gathered that the man who was in a Lexus vehicle, was waylaid at the Ogboisisi end of Wetheral road.
The gunmen, who operated in a commercial vehicle, released gunshots as they and made away with the man and his vehicle.
It was further learnt that the gunmen sped off towards Aba Road with their victim.
Police Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the incident, noting that the the Imo State Police Command had activated its tactical units to go after the hoodlums and rescue the victim unhurt.
The abduction of the unidentified man is coming less than 48 hours after the Auxiliary Bishop of Owerri Catholic Archdiocese, Moses Chikwe, and his driver were kidnapped.
