Eyewitness reports from affected areas indicate that major streets and inner roads were quickly overtaken by rising water levels, forcing residents to wade through flooded streets or remain indoors as vehicles struggled to navigate submerged routes.
In low-lying communities, homes and small businesses were partially or completely flooded, with residents attempting to salvage personal belongings as water entered living spaces. Some traders were seen moving goods to higher ground in a bid to prevent total losses.
Motorists also experienced severe difficulty, as several vehicles broke down after being trapped in deep floodwaters. Commuters were stranded for hours in some locations, while transport fares reportedly increased due to reduced accessibility in flooded areas.
Residents blamed poor drainage systems, blocked waterways, and unplanned urban development for worsening the situation, calling on government authorities to urgently address recurring flooding in the state.
