A Nigerian, Kaycee Madu, has been named new justice minister and solicitor general in Alberta, a province in Canada.
Premier Jason Kenney announced Madu’s appointment during a cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday.
An elated Madu took to his Twitter handle @KayceeMaduYEG to express appreciation for the appointment.
He assured that he will pursue fairness, Justice and equality for all.
The tweet read, “Thank you, everyone, for all the well wishes. I am beyond humbled to accept my new role as Minister of Justice and Solicitor General – where I will pursue fairness, equality, and justice for all with every ounce of strength I have.”
With an estimated population of 4,067,175 people as of the 2016 census, Alberta is Canada’s fourth most populous province and the most populous of Canada’s three prairie provinces.
