Nigeria records 290 new Covid-19 cases as 33, 346 recover

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says a total 33, 346 persons have recovered from the rampaging Covid-19 pandemic since the first case was reported in the country on February 27, 2020.

The Centre gave the cheery news even as 290 fresh cases were confirmed on Monday.

The latest figure brings the total number or reported cases in the country to 46, 867.

In a statement released via its verified Twitter handle, the centre also announced that the mortality figure has increased to 950.

The breakdown of the figure shows that Lagos and Plateau states recorded 82 cases each, while Oyo State came third with 19 cases.
