LG Polls: Gombe Gov Presents Flags To APC Chairmanship Candidates 

 

Ahead of the December 19th local government elections in Gombe State, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya yesterday presented flags to the 11 Chairmanship Candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC).

The event was held at the Pantami township stadium in Gombe metropolis.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi the governor enjoined APC’s supporters in the state to troop out enmass and vote for the party’s chairmanship Candidates, with a view to guaranteeing sustainable growth and development.

According to Yahaya, since coming into office in 2019, his administration has made far reaching efforts towards timely procurement and distribution of fertiliser to farmers in the state, adding that it has invariably improve crop leading to bumper harvest across farmlands in the state.

In keeping to his campaign promises, the governor disclosed that his administration has made remarkable progress in the provision of portable drinking water to Gombe metropolis and its environs.

He noted that the expansion of water supply will continue, until a substantial part of the state is free from water scarcity.

On Health Sector, the governor said his administration has substantially completed the construction of Primary Health Care Centres across 114 wards in the state, in addition to the remodeling of the state’s Specialist Hospital, as well as overhauling of some General Hospitals in the state.

Yahaya reminded the crowd that the declaration of the state of emergency by his administration in the Education Sector, has brought about a tremendous improvement in Infrastructural development, school enrolment through Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) programme and teachers motivation which was in decay and in unacceptable conditions.

He said his flagship project of Kilometre eleven hundred which seeks to build at least one hundred kilometres of road in each local government area of the state, is well on course and will be delivered before the expiration of his first tenure.

On security, the governor said his administration through the support of security agencies and the citizens has taken proactive measures in preventing crimes and criminality in the state.

He charged candidates for the forthcoming local government elections, to embark on issue base campaigns by engaging all stakeholders across the strata of their respective local council areas.

The Chairman Campaign/ Planning Committee for the forthcoming local government elections, Abubakar Muazu said the party is well prepared for a sweeping and resounding victory.

He called on political parties participating in the elections, not to do anything that will jeopardize the process, but to play by the rules of the game which ultimately must produce a winner and a looser.

AlMuazu challenged the candidates not to hide themselves from the electorate, should they eventually win the polls.

Caretaker Chairman of APC in the state, Nitte Amangal assured the crowd that the party will emerge victorious in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

“Giving the performance of the people’s governor, the preparations and the reception we received across board so far, i have no doubt that we are going to win this election” Muazu said.

Other party stalwarts that deliver goodwill messages at the event include Senator Joshua Lidani, the member representing Yalmatu Deba Federal Constituency, Abubakar Sheikh and Bala Bello Tinka.
