Lagos reclaims lead as Nigeria records 417 new COVID-19 cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced a total of 417 new COVID-19 infections in the country.

With the latest number of cases, Nigeria has now recorded a total 49, 485 cases so far.

The breakdown of the figure released by NCDC via its verified Twitter handle shows Lagos state reclaiming its lead leading with 207 cases, while the Kaduna state trailed with 44 cases.

Details of the number of cases recorded by each of the states on Monday August 17, 2020 are contained below:

The release further showed that a total of 36, 834 persons have been discharged while the country has recorded 977 deaths so far.
