Akpabio appears before House Probe Panel on NDDC, as C’ttee chair resigns

Embattled Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio Monday morning stormed the National Assembly to keep a date with House of Representatives Committee on the Niger Delta.

The Committee presenting investigating the alleged monumental fraud in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) had asked Akpabio to appear before it shortly after the former Acting Managing Director of the Commission, Joi Nunieh made her own testimony.

This is coming even as the
Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on the Niger Delta, Rep. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (APC-Ondo) finally stepped aside as head of the panel following pressures from several quarters for him to recuse himself having been accused.

Rep. Tunji-ojo who threw in the towel on Monday morning resigned at hearing room 231, House Wing of the National Assembly, declared his readiness to face probe by anti-corruption agencies for allegations of corruption.
