Sokoto ADC Endorses Atiku for 2027 Presidential Election
Party stakeholders back former vice president ahead of upcoming presidential primaries and general elections.
The Sokoto State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has endorsed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election, describing the move as part of preparations for the party’s primaries and the next general polls.
The Sokoto State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially adopted former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general election.
The announcement was made during a press conference held in Sokoto by party stakeholders and loyalists.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Alhaji Muktar Magori, a senior party figure and former Chief of Staff to former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, said the endorsement followed consultations among ADC members and stakeholders across the state.
According to Magori, the decision is aimed at positioning the party ahead of its forthcoming presidential primaries and strengthening preparations for the 2027 electoral contest.
He stated that the endorsement reflects the confidence of party members in Atiku’s leadership and readiness to represent the party at the national level.
The event was attended by several prominent figures within the party in Sokoto State, including former Commissioner for Information Alhaji Dahiru Maishanu, former Head of Service Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad, and the State Chairman of the ADC, Alhaji Abdullahi Maigwandu.
Party stakeholders said further consultations and political engagements would continue as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
