SERAP engages Falana, others to challenge suit seeking to ban Twitter from Nigeria’s cyberspace

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) said on Tuesday that it has instructed Human Rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN to lead a team of senior lawyers to oppose the suit demanding for the shut down of Twitter from the nation’s cyberspace for allegedly supporting the ongoing #EndSARS protest.

SERAP vowed to go all the way in opposing the suit.

The suit was filed by a 2019 presidential aspirant and member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Adamu Garba.

SERAP tweeted, “We’ve decided to join S/N: FHC/ABJ/CS/1391/2020 filed by APC member seeking to shut down Twitter because of #EndSARS protests.

“We’ll challenge this suit, defend free speech & access to information of everyone.
