Plateau leads as Nigeria records 593 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced a total of 593 new COVID-19 infections in the country.

With the latest number of cases, Nigeria has now recorded a total 50, 488 cases so far.

The breakdown of the figure released by NCDC via its verified Twitter handle shows Plateau state leading with 186 cases, while Lagos State trailed with 172 cases.

Details of the number of cases recorded by each of the states on Wednesday August 19, 2020 are contained below:

The release further showed that a total of 37, 304 persons have been discharged while the country has recorded 985 deaths so far.
