Nigeria records 160 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced a total of 160 new COVID-19 infections in the country.

With the latest number of cases, Nigeria has now recorded a total 53, 477 cases so far.

The breakdown of the figure released by NCDC via its verified Twitter handle shows Plateau state maintaining its lead for third day running with 44 cases, while the Lagos state trailed with 27 cases.

Details of the number of cases recorded by each of the states on Friday August 28, 2020 are contained below:

The release further showed that a total of 41, 017 persons have been discharged while the country has recorded 1,011 deaths so far.
