#EndSARS: S’East Govs lament destruction of public, private properties

The South East Governors’ Forum on Thursday decried the massive destruction of public and private property by youths in the zone as a result of the hijack of the recent #EndSARS protests by suspected hoodlums.

Rising from a closed door meeting in Enugu, the governors who also met with federal lawmakers, ministers, traditional rulers, from the zone as well as political leaders and leadership of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the governors said they will no longer tolerate such onslaught against innocent people in the area.

While pledging to protect lives and property of the people of the zone, the governors warned that anybody who still continued to unleash mayhem on innocent citizens in the Zone will have themselves to blame henceforth.

The governors also promised to set up a fund in order to assist victims of the EndSARS protest, including the police, army and other security agencies.
