27 Stranded Nigeria Ladies return from Lebanon

No fewer than 27 Nigerian girls stranded in Lebanon returned to Nigeria on charted flight, on Sunday.

The returnees were received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama.

The returnees, who tested negative for Covid-19 before departure according to the international travel protocol, are allowed to go to their various homes in order to be united with their families.

While addressing the returnees, the minister who was represented by his spokesman, Ferdinand Nwoye, thanked God for their safe return after their experience in Lebanon.

In his word, “I am from Foreign Affairs, and I am here on behalf of the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs to welcome you back to Nigeria and to inform you that it is very unfortunate for the condition you pass through that it why the Minister and the Ministry took it upon themselves to see that you are here today”.

Speaking earlier, Philip Webbe, of Silver Wings said, they are the operator of the charted flight that brought the girls from Lebanon.

He revealed that the Lebanese Community in Nigeria with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Aviation, the Nigeria Embassy in Lebanon and of course the Lebanese Embassy in Nigeria had made the evacuation possible.

The representative of the returnees (name withheld) expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Nigerian Embassy in Lebanon and other spirited persons that play one roll or the other to ensure their safe return.
