#EndSARS: NBC sanctions Arise TV, AIT, Channels

Citing what it described as ‘unprofessional coverage’ of the #EndSARS protests, the National Broadcasting Station (NBC) on Monday sanctioned three major broadcast stations in the country.

The stations who were fined between N2million and N3million include Arise TV, African Independent Television (AIT) and Channels Television between N2million and N3million.

The acting Director-General of the NBC, Prof. Armstrong Idachaba, who made the disclosure during a press conference in Abuja said the affected platforms by their roles contributed in escalating the violence across the nation .

The stations were accused of airing unverified images of the alleged shooting.

The protest, which began on a peaceful note has since gone violence, with many states experience wanton destructions and looting of public and private properties.
